SCC networked with dispute board practitioners from all over the world
On 3 October 2019, SCC Legal Counsel Natalia Petrik spoke in session “Dispute Boards in the Energy Sectors: The Nordics and Beyond” at the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation conference and workshop event in Stockholm.
The event, with the theme “Stay in control – successfully manage project cost, schedule and performance risks”, attracted Dispute Board practitioners from all over the world. They discussed best practice, challenges, lessons learned, and developing trends in the use of DBs, learning from industry experts and experienced practitioners, while networking in various ways.
Main topics were: Understanding Your Dispute Management Tools: The role of Dispute Boards in Project success, Dispute Boards in the Energy Sector: The Nordics and Beyond, Spotlight on the World Bank, Development Projects and Dispute Boards, Mock DAB with commentary, Successfully using DBs in the Nordics: The parties’ perspectives.
Energy sources in Sweden and beyond, Dispute resolution options in Swedish standard forms of construction contracts and Institutional dispute adjudication tools were some of the topics broached by Natalia Petrik in her speech, also noting that the SCC is used to arbitrate construction disputes.
