Women, leadership, work and family

Interesting discussions on women in leadership when a delegation from REDMAD, a non-profit cooperation of women business executives in Chile, recently visited the SCC to compare notes on the challenges and opportunities facing women in business in Sweden and in Chile.

The visit was part of a European tour by REDMAD including London, Oslo, Stockholm and Madrid, where they visited companies and organisations that have been seen striving to get more female talent in decision-making and leaderships roles.

The meeting provided lively discussions on the different challenges facing women in leadership roles in Sweden and in Chiles, spanning from on the workplace issues to family matters. The effect that the Swedish systems relating to public childcare, family taxation schemes and the educational system has had on the development of equality in Sweden was addressed, as well as the panellists’ experience from their own professional journeys.

“It was an amazing energy in the room with so many impressive women in one place at the same time, and I leave with a lot of new insights gained.” says Lise Alm, SCC head of business development and one of the panellists.
