ICCA Swedish Focus in kluwerarbitration.com launched
Kluwer and ICCA have launched a new concept on Kluwer Arbitration – ICCA Focus Countries. First country to be highlighted in this initiative is Sweden. In ICCA Focus: Sweden, SCC, ICCA and Kluwer have gathered a selection of relevant Swedish arbitration cases and court decisions relating to arbitration
We are pleased to announce the launch of the ICCA Focus: Sweden a new initiative collecting all materials on Sweden and Swedish cases published in ICCA’s Yearbook Commercial Arbitration and International Handbook on Commercial Arbitration. This initiative highlights Sweden as an important arbitration jurisdiction.
ICCA Focus: Sweden consists of 15 arbitral awards rendered between July 1992 and November 2019 under the auspices of the SCC, one ad hoc award with historic value from 1966 on the question of applicable law for the substance of the dispute and the choice of seat of the arbitration; 16 court decisions rendered by the Swedish courts between August 1979 and June 2018 on the application of the 1958 New York convention; and the National Report Sweden published in the International Handbook on Commercial Arbitration in 2020.
This is the first Focus section with a geographical theme launched in the Kluwer arbitration publication
– Sweden might be small measured by geography but what happens in Swedish arbitration matters for a large portion of practitioners worldwide. This is why we are so grateful for ICCA´s Focus on Sweden, says SCC Secretary General Annette Magnusson. We look forward to a continued collaboration which means that the Swedish section will be updated regularly with new materials.
