New anonymized SCC awards added to Kluwer database
Ten new SCC awards rendered in 2019-2020 have been added to the Kluwer Arbitration database, including awards relating to third party funding, gross negligence and termination of a license agreement.
Kluwer Arbitration is a searchable database containing materials in the field of international commercial arbitration, produced in association with the International Council of Commercial Arbitration (ICCA). Aiming to increase access to awards of general interest rendered in SCC arbitrations, a new joint ICCA-SCC initiative was launched in 2020. Under this initiative, entitled ICCA Focus on Sweden, a selection of anonymized SCC awards are annually published alongside Swedish court decisions and arbitration-related secondary sources.
“We have picked the most interesting awards rendered in the past two years under the SCC Rules. Among others, you will find an award dismissing an expedited claim against a third party funder, an award in a dispute related to commercialization and distribution of pharmaceuticals, and an award dealing with alleged gross negligence and termination of a license agreement”, says SCC Legal Counsel Natalia Petrik about the recently published selection of SCC awards.
This collection of awards gives valuable insight into both standard and expedited proceedings under the SCC rules, for arbitration practitioners all around the world. The awards have been anonymized to maintain the confidentiality of the parties.
