Upcoming change - new Secretary General at SCC
After eleven eventful and successful years as the Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Annette Magnusson is setting up a new practice addressing climate change. Kristin Campbell-Wilson, who has held the position as Deputy Secretary General for eight years, will assume the position as acting Secretary General.
After leading the SCC for more than a decade, Annette Magnusson has decided to focus full-time on the climate change crisis as a practitioner. As of April 19, Kristin Campbell-Wilson, currently Deputy Secretary General at the SCC, will take the role as acting Secretary General. A recruitment process for the position is soon to be initiated by Novare.
Thank you Annette!
- During Annette’s leadership, she has led the way in digitalizing our industry and has represented the SCC with a strong and distinct voice among the global arbitration community. She has also connected the dots between climate change mitigation and adaptation and international law. She is passing on the steering wheel to one of the most modern arbitration institutions for international disputes and the SCC, with its devoted and ambitious team, is well suited to continue to be a leader in our field, says Mrs Charlotta Falkman, Chairperson of the SCC Board.
Annette Magnusson is founding a new practice together with former SCC-colleagues Anja Ipp and Sukma Dwi Andrina under the name of Climate Change Counsel, and the mission ahead will be to accelerate solutions to climate change.
- Turning climate ambitions into obligations is an important development ahead, as the path to net zero travels through a new legal landscape with rapidly changing requirements, stricter obligations, and unforeseen risks. But on this path there are also new opportunities and incentives, says Annette Magnusson.
Focus on innovation and development
The SCC is dedicated to enabling business and international trade and has put great emphasis on innovation and the further development of its services in recent years. Incoming acting Secretary General, Kristin Campbell-Wilson, joined the SCC as Deputy Secretary General in December 2012 after 9 years in private practice, most recently as a member of the litigation and arbitration team in the Stockholm office of a large international law firm.
